Relationship Counselling

When it all feels too difficult. How has it come to this?

A couple having relationship problems

Struggling to hear each other or be heard?

Do you feel you are each not on the same page anymore when you try to communicate? Too tired and stressed to even try? Have either of you gone through any difficult life events in the recent past?

A relationship or marriage can span a long period of time. Each of us can change through life events and experiences. Also having children can make a difference or suffering a bereavement or life changing illness. The dynamic in a couple changes when children come. Couple time diminishes and so does the opportunity to just talk.

Why not pause and take some time to discuss what is going on?

I use a Cognitive Analytic framework (CAT) to try and make sense of what each of you are struggling with. CAT is a collaborative interpersonal therapy which looks at each partners’ experiences and patterns to try and figure out why things have changed while you have each grown within a relationship.

Couple sessions usually last one and a half hours to give each of you the time to talk and be heard by the other partner.

Call or email today to arrange an appointment to see if couple counselling can help.
